The tool also fits the cup nut that is inside the steering rack and also the one under the rack, which adjusts the spring pressure on the rack slide. The tool is fractionally smaller than the root diameter size of the threads.</div> <bR> <div> Very early 2cv's, the  size is 20.3mm across the part that fits the cup nut slots and also fits the other cup nuts inside and under the steering rack.</div> <bR> <div> The last tool is 23.6mm across. This tool is used as an alternative and also in addition to the 21.6mm wide tool. As the cup nut threads are 23.8mm (24 x 1.5mm) in diameter, this tool is a fraction smaller, at 23.6mm. It would be used initially to insert the cup nut, without slipping out of the slots, giving better control, and potentially avoiding damage to the nut and threads until the bottom of the nut slots are far enough in and ready to accept the 21.6mm tool to finally insert it and adjust to the final spring pressure.
